Maps and Resources to Teach the Discovery Era

The Library of Congress has created Primary Source Sets and Lesson Plans which include wonderful rare period maps and images to fill the need for Discovery era materials.  See, for example, materials in the Primary Source Set entitled Hispanic Exploration in America:

Drake's West Indian Voyage 1588-89 lesson plan found at http://www.loc.gov/teachers/classroommaterials/lessons/drake/preparation.html provides fascinating early maps of St. Augustine, Santiago, Cartagena and Santo Domingo.  The maps have been divided into sections for to stimulate inquiry learning in the classroom and are print-ready.
